The ASC's mission is to transform aquaculture towards environmental sustainability and social responsibility using efficient market mechanisms that create value across the chain.

Key Features
The ASC standards are in compliance with the guidelines for standard setting established by the International Social and Environmental Accreditation and Labeling Alliance (ISEAL).
ASC has appointed a single accreditation body, Accreditation Services International (ASI), to accredit and oversee conformity assessment bodies (CABs).
Prior to ASC's opening, GLOBALGAP' s accredited certification bodies have been authorized to audit farms that adopt the Aquaculture Dialogue standards.
